Privacy policy

What Silaw stores
- On your device: your lesson progress, XP, streak, saved words and settings. You can use the app without an account.
- If you create an account: your email address, a hashed password, your display name (if you set one) and your progress, so it can sync between devices.
- If you report a mistake: the text of your report, the lesson or word it refers to, and your account ID if you are signed in.
AI practice partner
If the optional AI practice partner is enabled, the messages you type there are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce a reply. Do not enter personal or sensitive information in that chat.
Microphone
The speaking screen can record your voice on your device so you can listen back. Recordings are not uploaded and no pronunciation score is produced.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data, show third-party ads or track you across other apps or sites.
Keeping and deleting data
You can delete the local data by clearing the app storage or uninstalling it. To delete your account and synced data, email us from the address on your account.
Children
Silaw is meant for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 beyond what a parent or guardian provides when creating an account.
